Feminist Bird Club
Last month, we had the privilege of joining the feminist bird club at Governor's Island in Madison. We borrowed binoculars and followed the leader - the most passionate birder we'd ever met. To hear her talk about how birding changed her life was inspiring. Word on the street this group is pretty new, but they are growing quickly and their events fill fast!
Sustain Dane Summit 2022
We recently attended the Sustain Dane conference in Downtown Madison, WI. The speakers were fantastic. For those of you local to Madison, WI, check out this inspiring Dane County climate goal progress update. The keynote on building our social change ecosystem with Deepa Iyer, was also fantastic. If you're part of a social change organization, check out her book, Social Change Now; A guide for reflection and connection.
Our First Soaps
Getting to know someone almost always starts with learning about where they came from, so here's our story. 8 years ago our founder, Laura Daly, started making soap in the kitchen of her one-bedroom flat. She was a newly single-mom with two toddlers. She started a soap company to show herself that she could and because she thought maybe, just maybe, she could make a real business out of it someday. She kept it going because it was working! She discovered it was that thing that filled the middle of that venn diagram where what she loved doing, what she was good at and the work people appreciated from her overlapped. She made soap and worked on the business in her spare time...
