Now Offering Order Pick-up from Alice Good in Verona!

We are so excited to announce that we are now cross-pollinating with sustainable coffee shop, Alice Good, in Verona, WI.  MADTOWNers can now pick up their soapy orders from Alice Good (previously Tuvalu cafe), grab a coffee and bask in the glow of a company that truly cares about sustainability and believes "A Kinder World is Possible." Pickup hours follow store hours: On my first visit to Alice Good, I had the pleasure of being greeted by co-owner, Ralph. I was so incredibly impressed by the care and detail he put into answering my questions around the sustainability practices of the business and coffee! On Navigating Seasonal Transitions

On Navigating Seasonal Transitions

My teachers are always telling me that transitions are where the good stuff happens - the opportunities to grow. My good friend summed it up recently when she told me, "I'm really uncomfortable right now. I must be growing." Today I want to share with you few things that have always helped me through transitions be they seasonal or big life transitions. 1) Set up your environment to make taking care of yourself easy. Think about what is coming up in the next season and what your body might want with the new schedule. Get your environment ready for the transition in weather; your closet, your windows, your fridge, your comforter. Make an intentional practice of taking care of your...

Here are some things you can do: A short poem about spring in Wisconsin, In Wisconsin, as winter recedes, The land awakens from its freeze, As springtime's warmth begins to spread, The world outside begins to shed. The snows of winter melt away, Revealing grass and flower's display, And as the sun begins to shine, The world outside becomes divine. The robins chirp and songbirds sing, As nature blooms in early spring, The trees awaken from their sleep, And new growth they begin to reap. The gentle breeze blows fresh and clear, As colors blossom far and near, And in the air there's...

Feminist Bird Club

Feminist Bird Club

Last month, we had the privilege of joining the feminist bird club at Governor's Island in Madison. We borrowed binoculars and followed the leader - the  most passionate birder we'd ever met. Our First Soaps

Our First Soaps

Getting to know someone almost always starts with learning about where they came from, so here's our story. 8 years ago our founder, Laura Daly, started making soap in the kitchen of her one-bedroom flat. She was a newly single-mom with two toddlers. She started a soap company to show herself that she could and because she thought maybe, just maybe, she could make a real business out of it someday. She kept it going because it was working! She discovered it was that thing that filled the middle of that venn diagram where what she loved doing, what she was good at and the work people appreciated from her overlapped. She made soap and worked on the business in her spare time...
